Which models have access to BMW ConnectedDrive services?

BMW ConnectedDrive offers a wide array of innovative services that provide safety and convenience.

Service availability is determined by the model of the BMW vehicle and its model year or date of production.

SPECIAL NOTE: After December 31, 2016, the on-board cellular technology used for delivering numerous BMW ConnectedDrive / BMW Assist features was no longer supported on most 2013 and earlier vehicles, 2014 X6, 2015 and earlier X1, and 2016 and earlier Z4 vehicles. Affected customers whose BMW Assist or ConnectedDrive contract is active past this date were contacted by BMW. If you believe your vehicle may be affected, please visit and enter the last 7 characters of your VIN. If you are affected, you will be guided through selecting your preferred offer. Customers must redeem an offer by September 30, 2017. After that date, offers will no longer be available for redemption.

  • In order to receive BMW Assistâ„¢ services, an Electronic Subscriber Agreement (ESA) must be completed at your local BMW center and transferred to the BMW Assist Response Center.
  • GPS and underlying wireless services must be available and functioning.
  • Vehicle ignition must be turned on (except for Door Unlock and Stolen Vehicle Recovery), battery charged and connected and vehicle's electrical system operational.
  • Due to wireless carrier coverage, services may be limited in certain geographic areas.
