What Is Balloon Financing?

BMW Select and BMW OwnersChoice balloon financing offers all the perks of ownership with the benefit of lower monthly payments. You’ll make payments on a portion of the vehicle’s total financed amount, with a final balloon payment due at the end of the contract. You might be surprised at how much vehicle you can afford.

How Does Balloon Financing Work?

At the end of the loan term, your balloon balance is due. You can pay the balance in full, apply to refinance the balloon balance, or, if you have equity in your BMW, you may be able to use the trade-in value to help cover the balance.

What financing options does BMW offer?

BMW Financial Services offers competitive interest rates and flexible contract terms from 24 to 84 months with a wide range of down payment options. Depending on what works best for your budget, you can choose weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payment options.

We also offer two balloon financing options, BMW Select and BMW OwnersChoice — both provide all the benefits and security of ownership with low monthly payments. Learn more about our balloon financing options.

How long can I finance a BMW?

We offer a variety of retail financing terms. Your BMW Center can help you find the financing product that best meets your needs.

Can I pay off my BMW Financial Services retail contract early?

If you are interested in paying off your BMW Financial Services retail contract at any time, or want to purchase your BMW at the conclusion of your lease, please visit "Payoff Information" through My BMW Account, or via the My BMW App. You'll find all the documents you need to print, complete, and include with certified funds to complete the payoff process.

What balloon financing options does BMW Financial Services offer?

Get all the benefits and security of ownership with low monthly payments. BMW Financial Services offers two balloon financing options – BMW Select and BMW Owner's Choice – to get you behind the wheel. For more information, and to learn which option is right for you, contact your local BMW Center.

Subject to credit approval if applicable, and other requirements. State laws may vary. The final scheduled payment due under a BMW Select or BMW Owner's Choice balloon financing retail installment contract is a balloon payment and will be substantially larger than each of the other prior scheduled payments. BMW Select and BMW Owner's Choice balloon financing is a retail installment sales contract with a balloon payment. BMW Select balloon financing is not available in IL, NC, ND, NH, NV, PA, TX and WV. BMW Owner's Choice balloon financing is available to Illinois, Texas, and Georgia residents only. Financing provided to well-qualified customers financing their purchase of BMW vehicles from participating BMW Centers with assignment to BMW Financial Services NA, LLC or BMW Bank of North America. Final balloon payment amount depends on creditworthiness, contract terms, and estimated future market value of the financed vehicle at the end of the contract term.
