Operating fluids (oil and coolant) – at an additional cost for the driver

Lock-out - Remote Door Unlock via BMW Assist is preferred, Lock-out service for certain models, short-term mobility to retrieve a spare key or towing to nearest center ONLY with appointment.

The recommended procedure for a lock-out is to use the BMW Connected App or call to the Connected Drive call center to initiate a remote door unlock. Drivers must have a valid BMW Assist account with username and password (call Connected Drive toll-free at 1 (888) 333-6118 if your customer is unsure of their username or password).

The Roadside Assistance or Connected Drive Specialist is capable of directly initiating a request for remote door unlock. In the event the remote door unlock service is not possible or successful, the specialist may help arrange short-term mobility to the nearest authorized BMW center, home or office to obtain a spare key not to exceed 90 miles total (to and from) for the complete journey. The locked out driver is responsible for any expenses related to ordering replacement keys if required.

Trip Interruption - When drivers experience a breakdown, BMW Roadside Assistance may cover some incurred expenses - meal, lodging and alternative transportation (rental or public transportation) IF:

• The incident occurred more than 100 miles from your primary residence.

• The incident is due to a confirmed mechanical defect.

• The incident is resolved by a warranty repair.

BMW Roadside Assistance will reimburse customers up to $1,000 per event when incurred within 5 business days of vehicle disablement and IF the repairs cannot be completed during normal business hours on the same day of breakdown. Accidents, flat tires or road hazard caused disablements do not qualify for trip reimbursements.  

GKL models $2,500 per event. Flat tires events are eligible for Trip Interruption reimbursement.
