The creative process is one of exploration. This is especially true for Chris, a San Francisco based nature photographer. His BMW i3 serves as a vessel of discovery as he travels California's diverse biomes and ecosystems in search of the perfect shot.

Internationally exhibited filmmaker and photographer Chris Tipton-King roams nature without leaving a trace in the BMW i3.
“[The i3] is really zippy because of the instant torque. There’s no delay between pushing the accelerator and the car going.”

Though he initially doubted the viability of a fully-electric daily driver, Chris’ opinion shifted once he tried the BMW i3. “My last car was a compact, super-charged sports car," he says. "The i3 is way more fun. It’s an EV for people who like cars and enjoy driving. It feels like you’re driving the future.”

Saving more than the planet.
The i3 delivers more than clean power and a thrilling drive, and Chris discovered an even more practical appeal. “With the available incentives, it’s quite affordable," he explains. "I’m saving an enormous amount on maintenance… it works perfectly for me."
“I can charge once a week. It gives me a lot more flexibility. Now I can take jobs farther out and not stop to recharge. I don’t worry about it.”
Why the BMW i3 is right for Chris.
“I like being environmentally responsible. I think we’re at a critical juncture in human history where we need to start making real choices about how we’re going to survive on this planet. As much as I can do to make those choices for myself and model them for others, that’s what I want to be doing.”
