According to Thomas Keller, 'There is no such thing as perfect food. The real purpose of striving toward perfection is to make people happy.' Perhaps this idea, this attention to detail, precision, and above all, Joy, is what let 'America's Best Chef' to his newly announced partnership with BMW of North America. After 32 years as a BMW owner, this latest collaboration will perfectly fuse both partners' long-time commitment to establishing creative ways that elevate premium experiences-starting with Keller's flagship restaurant, The French Laundry, and the much-appraised BMW ActiveHybrid 7.
As the world's fastest hybrid, the ActiveHybrid 7 will offer a luxurious, high-performing concierge service to the restaurant's rustic, two-story stone cottage, where guests can enjoy a 64-seat dining room, salon, outdoor garden, wine cellar, and a showcase of contemporary American cuisine with distinct French nuances.
But to mark the celebration of this new partnership, Keller strayed from his usual forte to craft a BMW-inspired recipe with Bavarian roots: an apple-fed pork loin with bratwurst, braised red cabbage, apple dumplings and grain mustard sauce.
Before the launch of the partnership, Keller and BMW joined each other at the Beverly Hills opening of Bouchon. As the exclusive automotive sponsor of the event, BMW issued a fleet of ActiveHybrid X6 vehicles-the most powerful hybrids in the world-to a select group of the 400 high-profile guests who attended.
Both Bouchon and The French Laundry have received unanimous praise, with The French Laundry winning a place as one of the 'World's 50 Best Restaurants,' and a 3-star rating from the Michelin Guide. As the chef and founder, Keller has been the recipient of numerous accolades, including consecutive 'Best Chef' awards from the James Beard Foundation and the title of 'America's Best Chef' from Time Magazine.
