The 8-speed automatic transmission quickly and easily switches with the integrated electric motor. The additional gears reduce the engine's increase in revs each time you change gears, guaranteeing a quieter ride and increasing efficiency. The eighth gear reduces the revs at high speeds, improving comfort and reducing consumption.
The Hybrid-specific Auto Start-Stop system also shuts the vehicle off when stopped in traffic to conserve fuel and the "coasting mode" shuts off the gas engine when the vehicle is coasting.
