Innovative driver-assistant technologies designed to help you avoid hazardous situations.

Lane Departure Warning

This feature uses a camera to identify when the vehicle is getting close to a road marking, and warns the driver immediately by sending out a mild vibration through the steering wheel. The system can be switched on and off via a button to the left of the steering wheel.

Requires clearly definable lane markings that are not obscured by rain, snow, etc. Lane Departure Warning feature is not a substitute for the driver's own responsiblity in maintaining safe control of the vehicle.

Active Blind Spot Detection

Upon activating the turn-signal to show the intention to change lanes, this system recognizes and warns the driver through a visible signal in the exterior mirror casing if a vehicle is in the driver's blind spot or a vehicle is approaching at high speed in the overtaking lane.

Side and Top View Cameras

Top View camera provides video images of the road alongside doors, taken by cameras positioned in the exterior mirrors.

Speed Limit Info

Displays the posted speed limit in the Instrument Cluster as well as the Head-up Display (if so equipped). A special camera captures the speed limit posted on signs; a control unit then processes this information together with data from the on-board Navigation System.

Requires BMW Navigation System.

Heated Steering Wheel

Heated steering wheel makes gloves unnecessary for cold weather driving. A flick of the switch quickly warms the steering wheel to the perfect temperature.

Are a welcome feature for left and right rear-seat occupants in cooler weather.

Power rear-window sunshade and manual rear side-window sunshades with 2 shade sections per door.

Power tailgate

Helps loading and unloading in inclement weather or when you are carrying bulky items. Simply press a button to open or close the upper tailgate.

Active front seats

Active front seats help decrease stiffness or fatigue on long trips. When activated, the seat surface is continuously and imperceptibly raised and lowered from side to side, keeping your spine in motion and exercising various support muscles.

Lets you access Social Networks, music PlugIn and Video Playback through your iPhone, and see them on the Display screen The BMW Connected App, a suite of integrated web-connected features, can read aloud your Facebook and Twitter feeds, and lets you send prewritten tweets with a single Click.

Front ventilated seats

The internal sections of the seats contain multiple fans that provides forced ventilation through a permeable, "sandwich" seat layer. In cooler weather, temperature-adjustable air flows through the seat and seatback, providing warmth. In warmer weather, air circulates through the seat, dissipating perspiration.

Comfort Access keyless entry

Comfort Access system offers an even greater degree of convenience: keyless access to your car. Simply carrying the remote key in a pocket allows you to unlock the doors by touching the door handle. The hands-free trunk-lid opening function automatically unlocks and opens the trunk when you stand behind the vehicle and move your foot under the center of the rear bumper.

Head-up Display

Projects important travel information, such as current speed, on the windshield directly in the driver's line of vision. Directional arrows from the Navigation system, Check Control data, and cruise control functions can also be displayed.

The entertainment system includes two 9.2-inch color screens integrated into the back of the front seats. The tilt-adjustable monitors can be operated independently and can accommodate MP3 players, game consoles and headphones (not included). All audio and video sources in the vehicle can be operated from the rear using a remote control.

Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection

Detection option uses an infrared camera in front bumper that can scan up to 980 feet ahead. It detects people as well as the direction of their movement up to 300 feet away, and displays their presence on the iDrive and optional Head-up Display (if so equipped). The system gives a visual warning as soon as the pedestrians move towards the road, alerting you to potential dangers significantly earlier, so you can react more quickly.

Under optimal road conditions. Night vision performance is also limited by rain, fog, humidity and other weather conditions.
