Through-loading system with integrated transport bag

Through-loading hatch opening is almost 16 inches wide. With the backrest folded down, skis, snowboards, and other long items can be transported - even with the top down. Two fastener hooks conveniently transport items, such as grocery bags, in an upright position.

Retractable headlight washers

Retractable high-intensity headlight washers help keep lights clear of ice, mud, road salt and other coatings, for maximum road lighting and enhanced driving safety.

Heated front seats

A welcome feature for driver and front passenger in cooler weather. With the touch of a button, seat surface and backrest are heated and quickly radiate comfortable warmth in your choice of three settings.

Park Distance Control (rear only)

Park Distance Control uses ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper to help you judge the distance to other cars and unseen objects when parking. The beeping becomes faster as your bumper approaches the object, turning into a constant tone when the distance is less than 12 inches.

Interior mirror with compass

The easy-to-read digital compass, integrated into the mirror is a convenient way to constantly keep your bearings while driving.

Real Time Traffic Information

In many large cities, the navigation system can display and describe the Real Time Traffic Information around your BMW. If congestion is on your planned route, the system can often plan a detour around it.

Comfort Access keyless entry

Comfort Access system offers an even greater degree of convenience: keyless access to your car. Simply carrying the remote key in a pocket allows you to unlock the doors by touching the door handle. You can also turn the engine on or off by pressing the Start/Stop button without first inserting the remote key.

Foot must be on brake or, with manual transmission, must also depress the clutch in order to start.

Navigation system

Navigation system with iDrive and Real Time Traffic Information - convenient functions at your fingertips.
The highly detailed maps now offer a variety of views to help make finding your route even easier. If you want more than the 2-D view, select a night view, a height mode, or even 3-D perspective. You can also add verbal or written instructions. Take advantage of the travel planner, for any trip requiring multiple stop-off points. Up to 30 different locations can be programmed along the same route. By switching from a DVD-based system to a quicker, hard drive-based system, BMW also increased the operation speed.

Universal garage-door opener

BMW Universal transceiver takes the place of up to three remote-control devices. It can activate remote functions outside the vehicle, such as garage-door openers or home-lighting systems.

Both the right and left outside mirrors can be retracted electronically using the mirror adjustment unit located on the driver's door. When the mirrors are folded in by someone else, they can be conveniently folded out again simply by pressing a button.

M Double-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic

This 7-speed m Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic uses two transmission structures in one large housing. First, third, fifth and seventh gears are grouped in one structure; second, fourth and sixth gears are grouped in the other. When upshifting or downshifting, the system switches between the two structures, so that while one gear is being disengaged, the next is already in position.

Driving over rough or damaged road surfaces, as well as debris, curbs and other obstacles can cause serious damage to wheels, tires and suspension parts. This is more likely to occur with low-profile tires, which provide less cushioning between the wheel and the road. Be careful to avoid road hazards and reduce your speed, especially if your vehicle is equipped with low-profile tires. Run-flat tires do not come equipped with a spare tire and wheel.

This system features high-quality hi-fi components including 12 high-performance loudspeakers featuring Neodym magnetic drive and exceptionally stiff Hexacone diaphragms, a digital 9-channel amplifier and precision crossovers to guarantee unparalleled sound quality. DIRAC live signal processing technology corrects the impulse response of each loudspeaker, facilitating linear and accurate sound reproduction inside the car. The resulting true impulse response during sound reproduction enables both the driver and all passengers in a BMW to enjoy an extraordinarily multi-faceted and vivid sound experience previously only achieved by high-end home entertainment systems.
