Detection option uses an infrared camera in front bumper that can scan up to 980 feet ahead. It detects people as well as the direction of their movement up to 300 feet away, and displays their presence on the iDrive and optional Head-up Display(if so equipped). The system gives a visual warning as soon as the pedestrians move towards the road, alerting you to potential dangers significantly earlier, so you can react more quickly.
